Dundee is a leading shopping destination and north east Scotland’s key centre for retail. With a complementary mix of national chains and independent retailers, the City Centre offers 1.6million sq ft, equating to 569 retail units.

Dundee has a catchment of 640,000 people within a 60-mile drive time. There are more than 35,000 students – giving Dundee one of the highest ratios of student to resident ratios in Scotland, and with over 75 nationalities represented, the city is certainly internationally diverse. Plus, on top of that, as Scotland’s sunniest and warmest city Dundee is an ideal tourist destination, with 808,000 tourists visiting every year: Dundee city centre airport offers flights to London Stansted and Edinburgh airport is only an hour away. There are regular rail services from London on the East Coast mainline.

 Retail Offer

  • Murraygate / High Street – a pedestrianised area with a range of independent and national chain stores, including firm favourites H&M, M&S, Zara, WH Smith, Slaters and Thorntons.
  • Independent Offering – Dundee City Centre is home to a number of independent traders.  Head to Union Street to visit Lorraine Law Jewellers and Quirky Coo home and gift shop.  Stop off for coffee at Empire State or Folk Cafe in High Street, Henry’s in City Square or Seagate. Castle Street and Exchange Street are home to Braithwaites tea blenders and coffee roasters, Heartspace Wholefoods, The Wine Press and Gazeley’s Delicatessen. Reform Street has Coffee & Co, men’s outfitters Cooper & McKenzie and Europe’s first Project Pie pizzeria.
  • Overgate – 420,000 sq ft of undercover shopping with a range of brands from Primark, Debenhams, Top Shop and Foot Asylum to Oasis, Superdry and Schuh.  The centre also has several eateries including Five Guys and Frankie & Benny’s.
  • The Wellgate Shopping Centre – 310,000 sq ft of great-value shopping. All under one roof you will find national chain retailers including The Entertainer, New Look, Perfume Shop and Claire’s Accessories.  The centre also has a number of eateries including McDonalds and Subway.

Out of the city centre:

  • Gallacher Retail Park – 135,000 sq ft with anchor national chains including Mothercare, M&S Simply Food and TK Maxx.
  • Kingsway West Retail Park – 290,628 sq ft featuring big name stores such as Next Home, Halfords, Toys R Us, Curry’s PC World, Boots and Tesco Extra.
